Frequently Asked Questions
What is Acupuncture and how can it help me?
Acupuncture involves the careful placing of very fine needles into specific parts of the body to unblock stagnant energy (or Qi), keeping it flowing freely around the body. Stagnant energy can cause disease and/or pain, so when that energy is unblocked, the body returns to balance, and therefore, to health. Typical reasons for using acupuncture and / or herbs include, but are not limited to:
Body aches and pains, including sports or other injuries
Female hormonal issues including:
Fertility Issues (Hormonal Imbalances, Endometriosis, PCOS, ‘Unexplained’ Infertility, IVF/IUI, anovulation, Luteal Phase Defect, Recurrent Miscarriage)
Problematic Periods (heavy periods, painful periods, loss of periods, PMT)
Symptoms of Menopause and Perimenopause (both physical and psychological)
Digestive problems (including Irritable Bowel Syndrome, or IBS)
Improving sleep
Managing side effects from chemotherapy
Autoimmune Disorders
