Hello, I’m Katie.
I’m an experienced Acupuncturist dedicated to helping patients overcome issues including fertility, women’s health, headaches, anxiety, depression, and pain and injury through a combination of acupuncture and Chinese Herbal Medicine.
After graduating with Distinction in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) from the College of Chinese Medicine in London, I started my own practice in Hassocks to help treat and educate people on the life-changing benefits of acupuncture and live a healthier, and happier lifestyle.
I have been practising since 2019 and I am a registered member of The Acupuncture Society.
Why I Created Acupuncture Hassocks
Having used acupuncture for many years to treat body aches and pains, I knew first-hand the benefits it offers. However, my passion for acupuncture and Chinese Herbal Medicine really began with my experience using them to overcome my own fertility issues.
When I arrived for my first acupuncture appointment, I felt quite broken after 18 cycles of trying to conceive our first child with no luck.
I had been informed by a fertility clinic that I had a low ovarian reserve and my only hope of getting pregnant was from IVF, which I needed quickly as time was running out (I had just turned 37).
After undergoing various tests to understand why I wasn't conceiving, and receiving results that indicated all was normal, we were placed in the "unexplained infertility" bracket.
My cycles seemed normal to me and I was ovulating every month, so why couldn’t I conceive?
Taking a Different Path
Following my friend's success with acupuncture after 4 years of trying to conceive, I decided to book an appointment.
Meeting my acupuncturist for the first time was like a breath of fresh air.
She looked at my temperature charts, discussed my menstrual cycle in detail, and made a thorough diagnosis. I began receiving regular acupuncture and started taking herbs.
I saw changes in my body, my cycle and my temperature charts from the next month. Amazing! I also felt so much calmer and more hopeful regarding my fertility.
And within 3 months, I was pregnant.
Starting My Own Practice
This experience fueled me with passion and determination to help other women with their fertility or ANY hormonal issue through the use of Traditional Chinese Medicine.
After 3 years of specialist training where I qualified as both an Acupuncturist and a Herbalist, I set up Acupuncture Hassocks to create a safe and welcoming environment within which to treat my patients.
Finding My Clinic in Hassocks
My clinic is located in Hassocks, West Sussex and is a short drive from Brighton, Haywards Heath, Burgess Hill, Hurstpierpoint, Ditchling and surrounding areas of East and West Sussex.
